Analyst – Real Estate Debt Acquisitions

As part of the Commercial Real Estate Investment Acquisition Team, the successful candidate will provide analytical support to the Senior Credit Officer by underwriting both Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities (CMBS) and direct mortgage and mezzanine investments.? The position requires interacting with origination sources, performing property level and legal due diligence, as well as preparing investment committee presentations and ad-hoc reports. The candidate will regularly interact with the Senior Credit Officer, Chief Investment Officer and President responsible for Newcastle Investment Corp. (NYSE: NCT).? Excellent financial modeling skills, solid interpersonal skills as well as the ability to prepare investment presentations are key requirements for the position. ?The Analyst will gain exposure to CMBS, B-Notes, Mezzanine Debt, Bank Loans, CDOs and CLOs. ???

Requirements

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelors degree or MBA degree with 1-3 years experience in portfolio management or real estate underwriting, familiarity with CMBS and commercial property types, an understanding of structured finance including securitization as well as strong Excel, Word and Power Point skills.? Experience with ARGUS software is also a plus. Additionally, candidates should have strong communication, organization and analytical skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.? Finally, ideal candidates should be able to synthesize large amounts of data into concise and focused management reports with the ability to effectively communicate recommendations to senior management.
