Analyst, Global Reporting - Investment Banking (IBK) Finance

Department Description:


GMI Finance provides financial control, accounting, reporting and analysis for Merrill Lynch?s capital markets / institutional businesses.  GMI Finance ensures the financial integrity of these businesses, providing P&L and balance sheet reporting and analysis, inventory position analysis, and advises business management on matters such as funding efficiencies, accounting and regulatory implications and cost-control or revenue enhancement opportunities.  GMI Finance also performs other internal control responsibilities including independent inventory price verification and accounting analysis of financial and operational risk with regard to new business opportunities. Brief Description:


The successful candidate will work with the team responsible for the Global Reporting of the Investment Banking (IBK) unit.Job Responsibilities:
Coordinate the preparation of a Global Daily P&L including the reconciliation of recorded revenues across all products and regions.Manage the database of completed, pending and potential deals.Prepare ad-hoc analysis on historical and projected results.Interface with the business on resolving issues.Analyze budget targets and forecasts for the business across regions. Produce financial commentary for regional results. Qualifications:
S/he will have an undergraduate Accounting/Finance degree and at least 2 years of relevant work experience within the financial services industry. S/he will be expected to challenge existing process and able to communicate recommendations and implement process change using teamwork.Candidates should have: strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills, the ability to multi-task, be a team player, and be extremely goal-oriented. Knowledge of ESSBASE is required.Advanced technical skills are required as s/he must be able to use Access and advanced functions in Excel like macros, pivot tables, look-ups and filtering.
