Description
Morgan Stanley is a market maker in Equity Securities Lending and is recognized globally as the industry leader. Counterparties include the world?s largest hedge funds, index managers, custody banks, and institutional investors. Equity Securities Lending is a member of the Institutional Equity Division and works closely with our Prime Brokerage group in servicing hedge fund clients.



Skills Required
Principal Duties:
? Responsible for the global distribution and trading of equities. The trader borrows securities for/on behalf of the firm, firm customers and external counterparties.
? Provides market color to clients from a securities lending perspective
? Prepares and delivers marketing presentations to prospective clients
? Monitors market events that affect the demand for stock borrows
? Develops new products and conducts due diligence in new markets
? Develops and manages relationships with key market participants
? Maintains onloan book amongst various external counterparts
? Reduces and refinances borrow costs as often as possible


Secondary Responsibilities:
? Works to maximize use of firm inventory and captive supply
? Writes weekly country/client reports in coordination with global team
? Monitors financing spreads, corporate actions, hot stocks, and recalls for country/client coverage
? Evaluates prospective client short portfolios to determine pricing and sales strategy (demand)
? Analyzes value of prospective long portfolios (supply)
? Liaises with settlements and prime brokerage to provide efficient settlement


Skills Desired

Requirements:
? Knowledge of financial markets and fundamentals of finance
? Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access
? Ability to multi task and work well (independently) under pressure
? Results driven
? Basic understanding of hedge funds, prime brokerage and securities lending
? Presentation and negotiation skills
? Project management and technology development skills
? Familiarity with interest rate markets and instruments
? Series 7 and 63 (after acceptance of offer)
