CREDIT & CAPITAL COMMITTMENTS

 

The Credit Risk Group assesses the creditworthiness of existing and potential individual clients, institutional counterparties and issuers, and determines firm-wide credit risk within Framework limits. The Group reviews and monitors specific transactions as well as portfolio and other credit risk concentrations. It is also responsible for ongoing credit quality and limit compliance, and the Group works with the business units of Merrill Lynch to manage and mitigate credit risk.

 Job Responsibilities:


The successful candidate will join a small dynamic team to help execute loan sales and credit default swaps to hedge the firm's corporate lending book.  The group seeks a bright, hungry, technical professional for the role who understands product and has ambitions to work in front office.  This is a great opportunity for someone with interest in trading who may not necessarily trade currently.  S/he should possess a fundamental understanding of bond and derivative math or should possess the competency to learn.

 

S/he will have a variety of responsibilities in support of a trading desk that:

 Works with Loan Execution & Management team and Corporate Credit on hedging requirements for loansPurchases and trades credit default swaps for single names and indicesExecutes secondary loan salesMonitors credit and CDS markets for given industries and provides insightful commentary and updates to LEM and Credit management

Individual Job Requirements

 Initially individual responsibilities will include trade entry, processing of documentation, retrieval and analysis of market data, special projects and reportingGiven strong performance and desire, individual will eventually have opportunity to assume trading responsibility for own portfolio
