Applications Development Mgr

Job Description * Function as a technical lead/senior individual contributor to design, architect, develop and implement trade processing applications.
* Follow disciplined software development practices consistent with State Street?s Development Processing Framework (DPF).
* Effectively communicate requirements/resolve issues with offshore development teams in India/China.
* Remain up to date on current and best practices related to software development.
* Communicate effectively with development staff, design team and business users to evaluate requirements, suggest improvements and technical options in order to solve business needs.
* Provide development estimates.
* Develop tools and scripts to streamline daily functions.

Job Requirements
* 5+ years experience is required developing in Java J2EE programming with WebSphere (Servlets, JSP, EJB, and Portlets), HTML, Javascript and XML, XSL, XSLT, XPATH.
* 4-5 years relevant work experience in financial services/trading area
* Knowledge of design patterns for J2EE.
* SQL/Database skills using Oracle RDMS
* Working knowledge of JMS/MQ Series/CORBA.

Personal Attributes

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent exp. in Computer Science or related field. Master's Degree preferred. Java/Websphere Certification a plus
* Demonstrated ability to work in a global work environment
* Excellent verbal and written communication and possess the ability to work with people at various levels within the organization, both technical and non-technical.
* Must be self-motivated and goal oriented.
* Candidates must possess solid Object Oriented analysis and design skills, excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and be a self-starter
