Assistant Controller

CITY: Schaumburg STATE: Illinois COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
The Assistant Controller position will provide financial leadership in support of Equipment Services newly created Asset Intelligence business.

Responsibilities include:

-Maintain controls over Asset Intelligence's (AI) payable and billing functions

-Assist in AI's monthly financial close & reporting

-Maintain AI's policy and procedure manual

-Demonstrate and drive awareness of controllership principles and reponsibilities

-Maintain dashboard metrics and report performance

-Monitor contract compliance

-Develop value added analytical tools to support business objectives

-Perform ad hoc analysis as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting

-6+ years financial reporting, auditing and controllership work experience

-Solid PC skills: Advanced Excel skills, experience with financial systems/applications (i.e. Oracle, COGNOS, Business Objects) and intermediate Microsoft PowerPoint Skills

-Ability to travel up to 20%

-Willingness to work in Schaumburg, IL.

-Willingness to comply with pre-employment screening, including but not limited to drug testing, reference verification and background check.

-You must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.


Desired:
CPA preferred

Green belt certification (GE Employees only)

Equipment Services experience (GE Employees only)

FMP/Audit Staff experience preferred

Effective communication skills; Ability to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver effectively verbally and in writing.

Demonstrated success in building strong work relationships

Ability to work in a multi-tasked - fast paced start-up environment.

Knowledge of financial compliance reporting requirements: SOX 404.

Experience working in a matrixed environment
