Associate Director – Traditional Manager Research Group

CRA RogersCasey's Research Group interviews investment managers and evaluates their investment strategies for the purpose of identifying best-in-class investment managers to recommend to firm?s clients.  We are seeking an Associate Director to join our 14-member Traditional Manager Research Group.  His/her responsibilities will include (but not limited to):  interviewing and evaluating mutual fund managersperforming essential mutual fund data collection and analysisrunning quantitative models to analyze mutual fund portfoliosrating mutual funds according to our proprietary Manager Research & Ranking (MR^2) systemdrafting research notesbuilding and maintaining knowledge base of mutual funds across U.S. equity, non-U.S. equity, and fixed income asset classesrecommending best-in-class mutual funds to our consultants and defined contribution clients

 

This person will work closely with Managing Directors responsible for Traditional Manager Research and Defined Contribution business development. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Four to seven years of relevant work experience (see below).  MBAs or CFA charter holders, with a strong interest in finance and investments, are preferred.  We are looking for people with excellent oral and written communication skills complemented with strong analytical skills.  Working knowledge of accounting, economics and statistics is required.  Candidates must possess high quality control standards and time management skills; must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines; and must be comfortable conducting one-on-one meetings with investment managers.

Although not a pre-requisite, our preference is for candidates with an:

 understanding of the mutual fund industry from consulting, plan sponsor or vendor perspectives exposure to or understanding of administration/operation of defined contribution plansunderstanding of asset allocation processes/methodologies to support the analysis of lifecycle/target maturity fund research background in financial intermediaries (banks, insurance companies, etc.) and their participant‑directed retirement products
