Essential Skills
Our Credit Policy department seeks a dynamic individual responsible to act as an ?in-house? consultant on financial reporting issues across the breadth of industries Fitch rates. The position is highly visible internally and the qualified candidate will actively review and analyze financial statements to assist analysts in determining the credit implications of reported information.
The qualified candidate must demonstrate solid knowledge of current and evolving financial reporting issues, and have the ability to understand their credit implications. Working with Fitch industry analysts and internal accounting task forces, the candidate will identify and interpret developing financial reporting matters, publish research and assist in the interpretation of reported financial results. The candidate will also assist in Fitch's outreach effort to the investment community, accounting industry, and quasi-regulatory bodies.
Qualified candidate must have 3-5 years public accounting experience with a solid understanding of complex accounting issues (CPA required, advanced accounting degree and/or CFA preferred), and strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of credit analysis, formal credit training and/or a background in M&A accounting a definite plus.
