Audit Project Lead

Job Description Conducts, issues, and documents audit examinations throughout the corporation. Develops and maintains a budget and timeframes to meet audit requirements. Provides technical expertise and training to auditors. Works closely with managers to devise audit tests.

Experience Required: Minimum of 2-3 years of auditing and systems experience. SAS 70 and or SOX experience is preferred.

Knowledge & Skill

?  Knowledge of audit procedures and standards usually obtained through related work experience and a four year degree program is required to direct a team of auditors

?  Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures that relate to auditing/accounting standards and analytical skills are necessary to prepare audits.

?  Knowledge of the operations, functions and objectives of interfacing areas is properly audit operations, services, systems, workflow, and operational impact on other areas

 

Major Duties

 

?  Conducts and documents audits throughout the corporation, including the more complex and high
risk areas.

?  Conducts test of controls of business units to ensure measures are taken to minimize risk of
financial loss.

?  Utilizes operational understanding of various business
units to ensure operations,
services and systems have
proper audit controls in place.

?  Develops a budget and/or timeframe for how audit will be completed.

?  Reviews work of all auditors ensuring that departmental standards have been met.

?  Assists in preparing for the audit by assessing risk within an area prior to the audit taking place.

?  Communicates with partners at all levels, developing and presenting recommendations on
operations and controls for the business unit.

?  Reviews the summary of findings and recommendations memo prior to review by the business unit.

?  Conducts meetings with
business unit management to discuss audit results.

?  Works closely with unit managers to devise specific audit tests evaluation of audits.

?  Applies analytical skills to review information and determine potential control weaknesses.

?  Prepares quality review checklist ensuring compliance with departmental policies.

?  Provides training and auditing expertise to entry level auditors.
