BUSINESS ANALYST

 PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Business Analyst will assist with the completion of Business Analysis, Business Requirement Documentation, and Testing to support the successful implementation and delivery of Multi-Currency Product Processor changes within the North America region.

 

The preferred candidate will bring in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and ledger systems.  The candidate must also be proficient with project management practices and business requirement methodologies. 

 

During Initiation and Definition phases, the candidate will be responsible for:

? Formulating teams within each project

? Identifying Subject Matter Experts

? Analysis of existing product processor systems to determine the current state requirements

? Conducting interviews and facilitation of requirement gathering sessions

? Developing Business and Functional Requirement Documents

? Assisting to create estimates and manage project plans

? Assisting in prioritization of streams of work and determining SDLC timelines for each project

? Managing change control for requirements

? Issue identification and facilitating resolution

? Creating summary presentations and status reporting

? Ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables

 

During Construction phases, the candidate will be responsible for:

? Creating a test strategy and testing plans

? Identifying and writing test scripts

? Ensuring that the test plan and test scripts are traceable to all requirements desired

? Ensuring that environment(s) are setup

? Identifying testers for user acceptance

? Managing change control for requirements

? Managing the project plan

? Issue identification and facilitating resolution

 

During Validation phases, the candidate will be responsible for:

? Managing and executing test plans

? Ensuring that acceptance of application is received from users

? Ensuring appropriate communications and meetings are in place to manage testing (bug prioritization meetings, build/release notes, etcetera)

 

 

SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and review Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)Facilitate meetings with the appropriate subject matter experts to receive specifics on requirementsEnsure that high-level business requirements have been decomposed properly into useable functional requirementsPerform analysis to determine and verify business requirements and functional designLead peer reviews and inspections of requirement documentsManage changes to baseline requirements through a change control processMaintain issues lists, including minutes from design meetingsDocument functional specifications and SDLC required artifactsDocument operational flow of multiple business areas or processes Develop and execute test plans that will ensure business requirements have been met Create test scripts including specific test cases and expected resultsBalance the needs and foster a relationship between the business and the technology areasCreate flow diagrams, structure charts, and other types of system or process representationsAs appropriate, utilize design tools to create mock screens and prototypesAssist with the project planAssist in the organization and delivery of presentationsUtilize standard processes, design and testing tools throughout project development life cycleEnsure deliverables are being met on a timely basis

 

 

 



Previous Experience:

? Minimum of 3 – 5 years of practical experience in analysis, design and implementation on successfully implemented projects in the financial services industryPreferred in-depth knowledge of accounting principles and ledger systemsCompiling data, defining and documenting business requirements, process flow diagrams, context diagram and/or dataflow diagrams

? Managing, organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities

? Preparing and executing test scripts

Competencies:

? Strong oral/written communication skills and ability to perform structured user interviews to gather requirements

? Trained and proficient with formal business requirement methodologies, like UML and/or Rationale (RUP), is a definite plus

? Quickly grasp and master new requirements and related knowledge

? Manage tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes

? Ability to learn/understand some technical implications of system design

?   Willingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answers

? Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of the project

? Strong analytical and problem solving skills Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and VISIOKnowledge of the supported/related business areas
