Billing Director

The USC Keck School of Medicine, KSOM-MSCP Admin & Finance is seeking a Billing Director to join its team.

A successful Billing Director will optimize efficient processing of payments made to USC Care TIN. You will work with medical group leadership as well as department personnel to resolve complex billing issues. The Billing Director also serves as a liaison between payors and billing managers to resolve account receivable issues.

Job Specific Qualifications are:

Working knowledge of medical coding, billing, and collections including CPT-4 and ICD-9CM coding.

Working knowledge of computer applications including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and IDX medical billing system.

Knowledge of Federal and State program requirements as they apply to physician services within a University setting.

Demonstrated skill in government, private insurance, and laws governing collection efforts.

Demonstrated skill in patient account analysis and the ability to analyze and organize complex federal and private insurance payment regulations and methodologies.

Ability to plan, initiate, organize, and prioritize assignments; work independently to complete assignments despite competing requirements and deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise reports appropriate for presentation to the highest level of management.

Ability to verbally communicate with individuals of varying backgrounds to obtain and convey specific and sensitive information.

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working and professional relationships with physicians, faculty, staff, patients, and other individuals from the Medical Group and campus.

Skilled in analyzing information, problems and procedures to define the problem, identify relevant factors, identify patterns and relationships, formulate logical and objective conclusions and recognize alternatives.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Master?s Degree is strongly preferred with complete knowledge of the IDX billing system. Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience and 5 years billing experience.
