GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under supervision of the President, manages the financial and operational functions of the ministry. All work is done in a spirit of support for the mission of Gospel Light Worldwide, which is to provide Bible curriculum, books and resources that are Christ-centered to the communities, congregations and families around the world.
ESSENTIAL TO THE POSITION:
1. Perform research by traditional means as well as through the Internet
2.Demonstrate an understanding and sensitivity to differing cultures,
possessing multi-cultural sensitivity, and knowledge of how one
appropriately cultivates and maintains those international relationships.
3.Is proficient in computer programs for accounting such as
QuickBooks and Quicken
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance
1. Complete or oversee preparation of the annual budget
2. Monitor budgetary and scheduling guidelines
3. Analyze monthly financial data and produce reports
4. Develop and maintain accounting functions
5. Ensure that accounting practicies conform to non-profit standards.
6. Oversee royalties related functions
Database Management
1. Prepare Quarterly updates
2. Maintain donor database
3. Assist in fundraising activities
4. Track and report Received funds
5. Prepare Annual report to the donors, Board of Directors, and Foundations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
1. Proven communication skills (verbal and written). Multi-cultural background helpful.
2. Demonstrable organizational skills, able to keep many things going at once.
3. Sensitivity when dealing with people from various cultures, religious backgrounds, walks of life, etc.
4. Confidential and discerning when sharing information with others.
5. General accounting and bookkeeping skills.
6. Adept with computers, technology. Must be able to get around on the computer.
7. Proficiency in the following programs: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Filemaker Pro, QuickBooks and html.
8. Internet competency.
9. Ability to speak other languages a plus.
10. Strong administrative and organizational skills.
11. Able to prioritize, multi-task and change priorities quickly and easily when necessary.
12. Adaptability.
