SEC Insight, Inc. is an independent investment research firm which has mastered the use of unconventional business intelligence processes, such as the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), to research public companies.  SEC Insight helps investors avoid losses. 

 

SEC Insight has a vision to bring about better disclosure of information so investors can make better decisions.  Our company, now six years old, is embarking on an ambitious growth plan that includes the build-out of a meaningful business intelligence operation.  Opportunities like this are rare.

 

Business intelligence duties are presently carried out by our securities analysts. Your most pressing responsibility will be to take over these duties as well as the management of our office operation. You will be a key member of our research team.  Over time you will be expected to build-out a sophisticated business intelligence operation that directly supports and enhances the investment research process.  This vital role reports directly to the CEO.  You will constantly be challenged to rise to new levels of professional and personal excellence. Your accomplishments at SEC Insight will be obvious.  In the first 12 months, the performance of you and your unit will be measured in the following areas:

 Strategic Impact:  Produce business intelligence that directly enhances the revenue generating capacities of SEC Insight?s research products; Develop, win approval for, and begin implementing long-term plans for building a sophisticated business intelligence operation; Identify and recruit staff according to plan; Demonstrate top- and bottom-line sensitivity in all you do.

Data Gathering and Analysis: Gather and analyze important news events; Package and present timely information to our research team and CEO on a daily basis; Help to research public companies in order to identify those with increased risk; Gather data for analytical projects with speed and accuracy.

Information Management: Conduct background research needed to submit targeted, timely FOIA requests in support of our research; Process and track the pipeline of incoming mission critical documents; Track and present accurate data on the health of our information pipeline and production; Design, implement, and manage a new information pipeline tracking system.

Report Production: Gather, format, and input research reports in support of research analysts; Edit reports for formatting, style, and grammar; Devise improved means to deliver research both internally and externally.

Operations Management: Directly support our research analysts and CEO; Oversee all aspects of our website; Support and manage various new and existing customer relationships; Manage several key vendor relationships; Assist in efforts to define, recruit, and manage new support personnel as the firm grows.

The successful candidate for this job will have at least five years of relevant experience; an appropriate educational foundation, and, a demonstrated record of success in business intelligence.  A commitment to personal and professional excellence along with a strong interest in working in financial markets is a must.
