COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST

Primary responsibilities:  Perform pension compliance tests for both Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit plans, preparation of IRS Form 5500s and audit reporting package and other calculations, testing, reports as assigned. Responsibilities also include consulting with Senior Consultants, Account Service Staff, Clients, and External Auditors. 

 

Candidates must have 3 or more years of experience in compliance testing (e.g. ADP, ACP, top heavy, salary, step-match, annual addition limits, minimum coverage & participation, etc.), possess the ability to analyze the test results and consult with client regarding test results and process any necessary corrective actions for the nondiscrimination tests. 

 

The Compliance Analyst must also:

 Prepare the supplemental 5500 audit reporting package and prepare IRS Form 5500 and all appropriate schedules and attachments for 401(k),  Money Purchase and ESOP Plans. Broad knowledge of ESOP administration Possess the ability to work both independently and in a team environment and be able to handle multiple projects and deadlines, Use knowledge of ERISA and IRS rules and regulations, client plan documents, requirements, provisions, and other internal resources as they relate to Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit plans Possess strong mathematical and organizational skills, and experience in direct communication (both written and verbal) with senior staff and clients. Excellent PC/systems skills and be proficient in Excel and Word Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail Work with Client Transition Team to make sure compliance related data is complete and accurate and to convert data for 60 new plans onto our system.
