Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Qualifications

Direct lending or risk oversight experience strongly preferred.
Significant working knowledge of multiple bank disciplines including: commercial, CRE, consumer and residential lending, international banking and treasury.
Ability to convey abstract concepts and apply same to specific events.
Strong credit analysis skills.
Strong accounting skills/knowledge base.
Familiarity with banking regulations.
Strong communications skills.
Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
Flexibility and willingness to assume responsibilities for projects and tasks assigned.

Responsibilities

This position will assist with the day-to-day administration of credit risk policy in conjunction with the Director of Credit Risk Policy. There is significant daily transactional credit policy interaction with credit officers, credit review and the lending staff. This position must be able to identify and communicate policy requirements and their applicability to senior/executive decision makers. Working with the Director of Credit Risk Policy, this position is also responsible for the development and implementation of new policies. Policy development must involve the key stakeholders and will often require consensus building and collaborative compromises to balance risk and reward. This position must be able to identify and communicate potential exploitation that is not immediately evident in new policy propositions. The development process, application and control around policy creation and interpretation has a direct impact on the credibility of the credit risk function as viewed by lending staff, regulators, auditors and RBS group risk management. Policy development and interpretation must be weighed against business objectives and goals. Potential policy impact on business units must be identified and considered in the development process.
