Cage/Wire Operator

 

General Description:

Handle all cage, transaction and cashiering activities for broker dealer/RIA firm.  Provide controls for handling/storage of negotiable instruments.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

? Review and distribute wires daily; Morning reports, Daily Activity, Commission Activity.

? Monitor account debits and NSF checks.

? Match previous day tickets and prepare trade blotter for compliance signature; maintain file

? Prepare daily deposit ticket; prepare deposit blotter for compliance signature and to maintain file; make deposit at bank

? Enter mutual fund tickets as required

? Initiate and track wire transfers as needed; maintain file.

? Issue checks to clients; prepare payment blotter for compliance signature, maintain file

? Complete client account updates; change of address, rep code, new account form info, etc.

? Serve as primary back-up for receptionist.


 

Skills/Qualifications:

Previous cage experience required.  Knowledge of securities transaction processing required.  Must have good computer skills (i.e., MS Office, etc.).  Must have good interpersonal, telephone and customer service skills.
