Cash Processing Supervisor

Role & Responsibilities:
This person contributes to Coinstar's success by:
Managing Coinstar coin and currency processing and banking services that are assigned. This position performs ongoing analysis of internal and external processing activities to achieve efficiency and productivity while ensuring that cost-effective processes and service solutions are implemented. This person also manages service levels for all assigned contracted service providers.

Summary of key responsibilities:
With approval from the VP of Cash Operations, this person prepares and submits RFP's to qualified processing service providers. This position is responsible for processing rate negotiations, developing service terms, outlining scope of work, and determining vendor availability and capability. This position also awards the contract to the most qualified vendor after approval from the VP of Cash Handling.

Manages 3rd party processing service providers that are assigned.
Assists with the development of Coinstar cash room policy and procedure and provides training to Coinstar tellers and management as required.
Develops and manages to performance metrics designed for cash and coin processing.
Provides volume projections and proactive planning measures for peak seasons periods for the processing business while ensuring that service providers and employees are properly informed and prepared for the increased workload.
Provides CIMS training for processing service providers. Keeps service providers current and trained with all CIMS system upgrades
Collects data and financial analytics as required.
Reviews and analyzes data to determine service level achievement of processing service providers. Provides processing service providers with weekly and monthly performance reports.
Coordinates with and suggests to the VP of Cash Handling to identify new, or replace non-performing service providers. Manages to contract agreements.
Monitors unprocessed bins reports to ensure timely processing of coin bins at the best possible cost. Act accordingly to keep coin float to a minimum and ensure empty bins are available for transportation service providers.
Manages Coinstar coin inventories to within prescribed levels and provides corrective solutions to unacceptable inventory conditions.
Ensures a sufficient supply of bins, bags, and pallets to operate in each assigned market
Coordinates banking changes with Revenue Accounting and processor. Manages to banking contract agreements.
Ensures that assigned processors deposit coin and currency timely and accurately. Informs Revenue Accounting of late or missing coin and cash deposits immediately upon discovery.
Resolves processing service provider coin variances and banking deposit variances as delivered by Revenue Accounting.
Maintains positive relationships with regional Federal Reserve Banks to ensure a flow of coin in and out of markets.

Perform Coinstar cash room audits and inspections as required.
Maintain Notes databases with current vendor, machine, and personnel data.
Travels as needed.

Qualifications:
Education:
High School Degree or GED - Required
College, field of study - Preferred

Preferable Qualifications & Experience:
At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a field organization.
2-year degree in business and/or 4-year college degree in business or related field preferred.
2+ years field experience in coin and/or currency processing or banking.
Must have, or be willing to acquire, a valid commercial drivers license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
Knowledge of cash room auditing.
Knowledge of cash room and/or currency or coin processing best practices and procedures.

Key Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to problem-solve and trouble shoot coin and currency processing issues.
Ability to plan and manage complex projects.
Ability to communicate with customers, other departments, and business unit staff in an effective manner.
Excellent organizational skills.
Must be able to multitask and be confident in making independent decisions.
Experience using a PC or computer to schedule, track email, check databases, and produce records or reports.

Physical Demands:
May need to walk, bend, scoot, kneel, crouch and reach overhead.
Must be able to sit in and drive a passenger car and be able to travel by airplane.
Must be able to hear and communicate through a telephone.
Must be able to use a computer keyboard.
