Claims Examiner

Incumbent reviews claims and extracts information for processing. Collects and processes death claims. Verifies, corrects and completes claims information by telephone, letter or personal contact. Conducts investigations and gathers supporting documetnation on claims. Calculates benefits payable. Approves (to a specified amount) or denies claims in accordance with established procedures. Incumbents typically have 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

Ability to meet productivity and quality standards.

Possess a sound work ethic.

Must possess strong data entry skills and be proficient in Windows-based applications.

Ability to coordinate, prioritize and time manage workload. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
