Client Advisory Associate

Overview
This position will provide analytical support for the Client Advisory Group. The group serves the high-level consulting and analytical needs of our strategic partner clients, helping them find solutions to challenging ''big picture'' issues of their total portfolio. The responsibilities include providing leverage to the senior members of the team as well as senior sales officers. Much of the work will be quantitatively based and include asset allocation work, BARRA risk analyses, and manager performance analyses. In particular, many projects will use PortfolioWorks, BGI's proprietary software tool that enables investors to optimize the structure of their investment managers. The position is an exceptional opportunity for a technically adept young professional to gain experience and knowledge of the investment management business by working with some of the world's biggest clients and prospects. As the Client Advisory Group supports BGI's Institutional Business and Individual Investor sales efforts, the position provides broad exposure to the industry.

Responsibilities
Aid the group in servicing senior sales officers in their consultative needs Run PortfolioWorks, BARRA, and other software tools, generating presentation quality output with high standards for quality. Work under tight deadlines for production with sometimes conflicting demands Attend some client meetings in-house; occasional light travel for outside meetings Maintain databases and contribute to the continued evolution of the PortfolioWorks software



Requirements
BA/BS in Economics/Finance (investments) strongly desired. Graduate study/CFA a plus. A strong mathematical and statistical background is a necessity. A strong understanding of quantitative finance or an exceptionally strong demonstrated ability to learn difficult concepts through diligent outside study Experience in academic or professional positions requiring quantitative skills in investment finance is a plus Advanced spreadsheet skills; programming skills a plus Interpersonal and oral/ written communication skills
