Closer

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Responsible for closing and due diligence services for an assigned portfolio which services include participating in the deal team, setting up the transaction file; creating closing checklist and monitoring  progress on closing checklist; identifying items/conditions to be satisfied and the party responsible; coordinating and engaging outside consultants necessary for the transaction including legal counsel, environmental engineer, inspecting engineer, etc; preparing and/or accumulating, filing and reviewing all draft loan documentation and other information for conformity to credit policy, loan approval, and commitment letter.
- Works closing with multiple parties (legal counsel, banker, asset manager, office administrator,  investor, sponsor, sponsor's counsel, title agent, other lenders, etc...) to achieve a well-coordinated and timely closing and sale to investor. 
- Authorizes closings and  fundings of assigned portfolio, coordinating  fundings with Investment Accounting and Servicing 
- Follows up on post-closing items 
- As part of the deal team,  provides closing and due diligence services for assigned portfolio from deal conception through sale to investor to exit  (i.e., the entire Private Equity Group-life cycle-of project) 
- Clearly and immediately communicates problems/issues and elevates appropriately; assists in resolving issues affecting client service and risk management 
- Assists with special projects to improve the quality of the closing and due diligence services provided to the Private Equity Group

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- 4-year College Degree; real estate paralegal training or title company or developer closing experience preferred
- Knowledge of real estate loan financing including commitment/loan structures, title/liens, contracts, leases, AIA documents, insurance and other legal documentation; knowledge of mezzanine or equity financing preferred 
- Experience playing an active role in real estate loan closings 
- Strong solution-oriented and problem solving skills; detail-oriented 
- Aptitude for analysis, systems and mathematics 
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high volume environment 
- Ability to exercise good judgment which balances client service/sales and risk management 
- PC proficiency including familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word and Access
