Job Description:
Direct the efficient operation of the closing department. Develop and implement policies and procedures to enable funding. Motivate and empower staff to make sound decisions.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:
Oversee loan closing functions to ensure loan packages are complete and proper documentation is available to transfer title.

Ensure systems are in place to track loans, enabling loan closings.

Maintain inventory of loans to be closed and forward completed packages to loan delivery.

Forward loan set up packages to servicing department.

Establish policies and procedures for loan closure.

Monitor workflow to determine staffing needs, recognize areas for improvement and suggest procedural enhancements to Operations Manager.

Essential Skills:
College degree or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 3 - 5 years as a mortgage Funder/Closer for GreenPoint Mortgage or two years experience in mortgage funding/Closing manager.
Working knowledge of tasks associated with Closing personnel.
Thorough knowledge of company policies; loan products; investor, closing and underwriting guidelines.
Strong understanding of mortgage lending/banking and related industries.
Supervisory skills with expertise in coaching techniques and team building.
Ability to organize and prioritize details; ability to complete multiple tasks on schedule; ability to function as a committed team player; ability to work productively in a fast-paced, often stressful environment.
Ability to problem solve, exercise independent judgment and see the "big picture" while displaying a high degree of initiative; ability to work productively under minimal supervision.
Effective verbal and written communication and computer skills.
