Collection Clerk

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

. Assist credit manager as necessary in reviewing potential new accounts for credit worthiness.  This includes initiating credit applications and contacting bank and trade references.  Reconciling accounts, issuing credits, writing off finance charges, and allowing discounts, etc.

?Performs credit checks for all new Customers; updates credit checks for existing Customers when conditions warrant
?Establishes and monitors credit limits, reevaluates and/or revises credit limits, as needed.
?Immediately notifies the Credit Manager when the incumbent makes the decision to discontinue extending credit, changes credit terms or decides not to release a pass code
?Follows up on collecting payment from delinquent accounts by making collection calls, sending collection letters, filing bonds, and lien waiver and releases
?Responds to credit inquiries on Customers
?Investigates and follows up on short payments and failed payment plans.
?Prepares weekly Account Receivables report

?Recording status of collection efforts in SAP system

?Reviews and updates the No Ship List
?Reviews and updates the JTP Production Report

? Sorting and filing correspondence and responding to customer and company requests as necessary and applicable

? Assist with related special projects as required

? Other duties may be assigned
