Collections Supervisor - Medical Claims

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an experienced medical claims collections supervisor with the following qualifications:

 

PREFERRED SKILLS:  Microsoft Office, including Access.  Interpersonal communication skills.  Working knowledge of various health insurance products. 

JOB SUMMARY: Directs and coordinates the activities involved in the collection of outstanding patient accounts.  Develops collection policies and procedures through the use of in-house staff and outside agencies.  Accountable for creating a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Maintains knowledge of and assures departmental compliance with Kaiser Permanente?s Principles of Responsibility and policies and procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Responds appropriately to observed fraud or abuse.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.  Four years experience in credit and collection with an emphasis in a medical insurance and benefits billing processes required.  Minimum three years of supervisory experience, to include one year of supervisory experience within Kaiser Permanente preferred.  Previous experience of collection systems and procedures.  Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to credit and collections.  Experience with spreadsheet (MS Excel), word processing (MS Word) and database (MS Access) applications.  Strong negotiation skills.  Effective verbal and written communication skills.
