Controller - America's Pole

CITY: Louisville STATE: Kentucky COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
* Provide expertise and accounting guidance to both finance and non-finance employees to remain in compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and GE general accounting principles.
* Drive and monitor corporate initiatives, simplification projects and integration projects.
* Develop (in conjunction with the CFO, America's) and execute a plan for Controllership site visits to review balance sheets and discuss potential issues within the America's pole.
* Primary point of contact for the GE Corporate Audit Staff and external auditors for timely completion and coordination of audit engagements.
* Drive and monitor quarterly closing rhythm including account reconciliations, representation letter, results review, etc.
* Provide technical accounting support and oversight to Assistant Controller, America's on M&A activity within C&I.
* Liaise with General Accounting Manager on general ledger issues and corporate reporting.
* Participate in Controllership Council activities.

Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
* Certified Public Accountant.
* Minimum 10 years experience including public accounting experience.
* Self-motivated individual who is able to operate independently and multi-task effectively.
* Demonstrated success working cross-functionally among different teams and different levels of employees.
* Excellent communication skills.
