D2 Chief Operations Officer

A billion dollar Westchester based hedge fund is seeking a chief operations/compliance officer.  General Responsibilities will include oversight of all operations, investor relations, accounting, compliance, technology, personnel and brokerage relations. This individual will report to the CEO and will have four or five direct reports: CFO, IT, office manager, and administrative assistant.  Pay will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:
Dedicated and motivated individual with 10 + years experience in either or both financial services operations and marketing;Ability to work under pressure, understand complex instruments, find innovative solutions and manage personnel;Demonstrated ability to work with outside legal counsel;Direct experience with financial account setups -knowledge of ERISA a plusExcellent presentation and communications skills;Direct hedge fund experience preferred, but not required.


Specific Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to:
Oversee all activities of four or five direct reports; and of the operations of the fundEstablish and maintain operational structure, processes and controls to mitigate risk of errors, omissions, inefficiencies and non-compliance with laws and regulations;Oversee and review daily business operations output:Ability to understand and explain tax implications for our transactionsDevelop legal documents, including offering documents, operating agreements, deferral plans, vendor contracts, employee contracts, ISDA agreements, compliance manual, code of ethics, employee handbook and DDQ;Develop procedures for compliance with Advisors Act and SEC rules and regulations;Establish and implement controls to work with outside counsel to timely address compliance/legal matters;Oversee Investor relations:Regularly meet with direct reports to monitor their activities and to mitigate risk of control failures.Business operations: budget, rentals, building maintenance


Education:
Bachelors degree required;JD, MBA, or CPA preferred, but not required.
