COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE- Director of Underwriting

This position is primarily responsible for the underwriting and due diligence of   commercial real estate loans, with heavy emphasis on land entitlement, acquisition and development and construction loans ranging from $1MM to $20MM.   The primary job responsibility for this position will be the investigation ofboth feasibility and value of real estate offered as collateral for that type ofcommercial real estate loan, the documentation of that investigation in a functional format, and participation in the evaluation of resulting loan opportunities with the company?s loan committee.

 

Additional responsibilities will include follow-up due diligence and documentation leading to the closing of properly perfected and compliant commercial mortgage loans, including interface with borrowers, third-party vendors and closing staff.

 

A person seeking this position should have a minimum of five years experience investigating the feasibility of commercial real estate for lending, investment or appraisal purposes, with particular emphasis on the early stages of development (i.e. land in transitional entitlement, acquisition and development opportunities, parcel assemblage) and preparing reports documenting those investigations.   Familiarity with the real estate lending process from a documentation perspective is helpful but not absolutely required.  Functional ability on Word and Excel is required.
