Defined Benefit Plans Specialist

 

Administer the provisions of defined benefit plans funded through TIAA CREF’s Group Annuity contracts, including the calculation, illustration and distribution of retirement benefits.

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Under limited supervision, prepares benefit calculations and distributions under defined benefit plans.

Under limited supervision, communicates with institutions and participants regarding benefit calculations and distributions.

May assist in preparing institutional and other reports.

May participate on cross-functional teams.

Effectively gains cooperation and commitment to take action from colleagues, customers and/or external contacts.

Demonstrates the ability to influence decisions of management regarding process/workflow improvement.

Uses relevant application systems and PC skills to accomplish moderately complex tasks.

Draws on good understanding of defined benefit plans to research and analyze

moderately complex issues.

Cultivates an understanding of regulatory and compliance issues

Performs moderately complex computations and approaches practical problems by choosing appropriately from a variety of analytical techniques.

 

 

 



Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2-5 years experience in retirement plan administration or related industry, including at least 2 years experience in defined benefit plan administration.
