Director 3-IS Risk&Compliance

Provides management and direction for compliance and risk management functions across Investment Manager Solutions North America business units and oversight/monitoring of compliance and risk management activities at IMS global business units and offshore operations units established under the State Street's Globalization initiatives (including State Street Services, Mumbai, India). Will report directly to the Senior Directors for IS Risk and Compliance North America and Europe and, on a matrix basis, to the EVP head of the IMS/Product Operations business area.

In conjunction with the Senior Directors, responsible for developing and implementing risk management and compliance programs across State Street's investment management middle-office outsourcing business units and global offshore operations hubs (to which State Street business units have "offshored or outsourced" certain operations functions.) Provides direction to subordinate managers and staff and works collegially with risk and compliance teams located in IMS global (non-US) business units to provide "best practice guidance" and obtain risk and compliance reporting for presentation to the EVP head of the business area .

Spear head special projects and serve on committees and task force assignments. Provide leadership in areas outside of the division.

Assess effectiveness of compliance and risk management programs. Identify gaps and proactively make suggestions to initiate improvements.
May serve as a back up to Senior Directors
Equivalent to a B.S. degree in Business, Finance, or related field. An MBA or M.S. degree is preferred.
Twelve or more years of risk management and/or compliance management experience, preferably in a financial services and/or investment management.
Solid knowledge of investment management operations
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Ability to develop business relationships within and outside of the organization.
Strong problem resolution and analytical skills.
Ability to work effectively with Senior Managers.
Ability to act a role model for the company.
