Director, Global Financial Planning & Analysis

RESPONSIBILITIES: • Build and develop a ?best in class? Financial Planning and Analysis organization to help coach and guide the leadership team in achieving its business objectives (e.g. Revenue, EBIT, cash flow and ROI growth);  Includes assessing the current financial organization and determining the optimal structure.
? Coordinate operating plans, estimates and strategic initiatives across 10 P&L?s for a $3 B industrial business with ~7,300 employees.  Analyze results, identify risks and develop contingencies.  Position the business to meet its corporate commitments (e.g. ROI, EBIT).  Identify opportunities to stretch the organization (e.g. benchmarking), driving shareholder value.
? Provide strategic and tactical thinking as well as broad business insight; take a leadership role in developing the financial strategy to support the long-term growth of the business.
? Play a leadership role in the transformation of the PRG group:  Moving the organization from an internally focused, US centric mill-run operation to an externally focus, global P&L organization with ?best in class? metrics and decision support system. Identify opportunities to improve PRG?s capital structure.
? Develop processes and procedures to improve the quality of financial analysis (i.e. daily, monthly, and quarterly).  Drive stronger ownership and accountability of results.
? Implement ?best in class? financial tools, systems and models (e.g. financial reporting, Business warehouse).
? Assist President and CFO with internal and external business presentations.
? Lead external growth and integration efforts for the Division; Identify and assess trends in the environment as well as profile industries and markets to evaluate threats/opportunities, and lead acquisition evaluation and due diligence efforts.
? Assist with business development opportunities (e.g. Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, and Dispositions).
? Assist with PRG?s shared service (Global Business Services) initiative.
? Provide leadership and coaching that fosters an environment of problem solving, improved business practices and attracts and retains superior financial talent.

EXPERIENCE:
? The successful candidate should have a minimum of 10-15 years experience in positions of increasing responsibility in a large, well run public company recognized for the development of a quality financial organization.
? Experience should include responsibility for cost control, transaction processing and decision support of the business. Significant exposure in the application and use of leading financial management/ERP systems is expected.
? A career characterized in a senior role of some or all important areas of the finance function including accounting, controllership, budgeting, planning, acquisitions and divestitures, auditing, SOX compliance, information technology and related areas.
?  A track record of identifying opportunities for strategic innovation and taking advantage of them by recasting the company?s business models, practices and organizations with traceable case history examples.
? The application and effective use of EVA or other tools in the assessment of shareholder value creation.
? Well developed strategic planning skills from inception, implementation, to measurable results achieved individually, functionally and corporate wide.

KEY COMPETENCIES:
? Will assist the CFO in leading the financial organization to a significantly higher skill level in the use of tools and processes to move from disseminator of information to the provider of the knowledge necessary to support decision making. It is anticipated that this person, as a key finance leader, will support the business team in decision making and execution that will systematically lead to improved revenues, costs and successful internal investments.
? Has the ability to conceptualize the likely outcomes of specific initiatives and how they will affect other activities/business processes.
? The experience and knowledge to support the transformation of a US thinking organization to that of global, multi-cultural entity.
? As a key advisor to the President and the CFO, will have well founded strategic perspectives of alternative ideas, projects and courses of action which would drive finance to achieve its stated objectives.
? Be highly analytical and results oriented. Provide sound judgment and recommendations regarding the tactical implementation of the annual plans and the respective impact on current year earnings and cash flows.
? Exhibit a sense of urgency and employ creative problem-solving techniques to resolve complex financial issues.
? Anticipate, quantify and communicate financial risks, opportunities and potential solutions to the leadership team.
? Strong and effective interpersonal skills; Able to communicate complex topics in an effective and concise manner.
