Position Summary:
This position is responsible for directing internal (employee) and external (customer) training. The director ensures that that customer financial institutions are provided with training that enables successful Digital Insight (DI) product implementation, administrator and user competence, and informed promotion and growth of the online channel. These initiatives help increase profitability by reducing implementation cycle time, reducing customer service call volume, driving increased end user adoption, increasing customer satisfaction, and producing significant direct revenue. The director ensures that employees are provided with training on DI products, systems, and tools, technical skills and training on the financial services industry all designed to strengthen the employee skill set and contribution to the company. In addition, the director will partner with Human Resources to execute the delivery of particular employee, management and leadership training programs that fall within the framework of Digital Insights employee and leadership development methodologies and strategy. The director will develop programs for new hire training and ongoing training for all employees. This position also involves significant direct interaction with customer and prospect executives and managers regarding their institution's specific training needs. This position has a dotted line reporting relationship to the SVP, Human Resources and Organization Development.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1) The director will partner with human resources and managers company-wide to address employee training needs.
2) Conduct training needs assessments and develop targeted training programs to bring offers of value to meet customer and employee training needs. Execute on these initiatives through collaboration with internal partners.
3) Management and development of training staff through strong leadership, mentoring, open communication, performance metrics, goal setting, team activities and development planning to ensure high levels of job knowledge, execution, and satisfaction.
4) Day to day management of department P&L through planning, budgeting, analyzing data and trends, forecasting and reporting to ensure departmental financial commitments are met or exceeded.
5) Management of curriculum development function by providing leadership to curriculum development team on planning, strategy, analysis, design, development, prioritization, and evaluation.
6) Maintain awareness of current learning technology and systems to ensure adequate capability in the areas of training administration, records maintenance, and eLearning
7) Monitor and maintain customer satisfaction (cs) by analyzing and reporting course evaluation results and interfacing directly with customers regarding any satisfaction issues to ensure cs metrics consistently exceed company goals.
8) Collaborate with Marketing and other training staff to ensure prominent promotion of all training offerings by developing collateral, white papers, case studies, positioning documents, customer communications, web content, and other media. Benchmark current and planned offerings against industry competitors with regard to price, content, value, ROI, delivery methodology, etc. to ensure maintenance of DI's leadership position in this area.
9) Provide direct assistance to Sales, Client Relations, and Growth and Retention staff in preparation of RFP's, giving presentations to prospects, providing internal training to sales managers, negotiating training terms to position DI training as a differentiator and help close deals, and analyzing customer data to ascertain where training can positively influence customer growth and retention.
10) Support the Implementations team by assigning instructors to work with each project manager and their assigned customers on identifying administrators and scheduling and delivering product certification training
11) This speeds up the implementation cycle by enabling effective customer participation in areas such as identifying preferences, reviewing issues logs, etc. Required ExperienceQualifications:
Along with your outstanding drive for accomplishment, the successful candidate will bring with them:
1) Bachelor's degree in I/O Psych, Education, or Business (Master's preferred) and 10 or more years of progressively responsible experience in a high tech customer or employee training business, at least 5 of which have been at the Director or Manager level. Experience in managing 10 or more employees, budgeting, revenue forecasting, customer and vendor negotiations required.
2) Must be a credible leader with documented ability to generate a high degree of respect from training staff, corporate peers, and senior executives.
3) Must be a strategic thinker with strong administrative skills.
4) Strong working knowledge of adult learning theory, curriculum design methodologies, instructional techniques, learning technology, and performance-based training applications.
5) Strong verbal, written communication and group presentation skills.
6) Strong project management, record keeping, and organization skills; able to balance priorities of several projects simultaneously with day-to-day responsibilities.
