Director - Product Management

Summary of Responsibilities:  Assist on all aspects of the universal life product line.  Organize and lead cross-enterprise project teams in the development, documentation, and implementation of all phases of new individual UL products and product enhancements for the MetLife enterprise.  Must partner closely with other areas of the Company to ensure successful implementation of product deliverables. Manage day-to-day new product and enhancement UL issues.

 The department will be focused on delivering competitive products quickly to market that maximize profitable sales, delivering simple procedures making MetLife an easy place to do business, and implementing superior support maximizing MetLife?s value from the in-force block of business.

 

Principal Responsibilities:

Lead a team, which is responsible for:

 1.  Managing all aspects of product development process for all product introductions and enhancements2.  Creating product management specifications for new products and enhancements, and signing-off on all specifications created by other organizations3.  Leading idea generation process for opportunities for enhancement4.  Play lead product role in promotion, marketing and communication for product line.5.  Be LPMG lead in support of training for product line (distribution and service)6.  Lead development and distribution of competitive scenarios to identify and promote competitive niches7.  Play key role in design of illustration and enhancements to support product line

 

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:

 1.  Must possess prior life insurance product management experience2.  Must possess and demonstrate strong leadership and project management skills.3.  Must possess excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills for coordinating and monitoring deliverables and status.4.  Universal Life product knowledge.5.  Ability to analyze data/situations and make sound business decisions.6.  Ability to manage/influence with limited authority.7.  Understand and participate fully in the Company?s product development process. . Must understand market to be able to uniquely position products.
