Description


Drives better marketing and business decisions by providing actionable decision support and insightful market analysis. Develops hypotheses about customer behavior and profitable growth scenarios and applies the right blend of qualitative and quantitative research techniques to identify causes and solutions. This person will spend considerable time demonstrating the value of activity-based costing, transfer pricing, regression analysis and profitability measurement while driving the use of these tools deeper into organization. Ensures that the market research and analytics effort is focused on the right set of projects that are approved and prioritized by senior management as necessary to drive key business decisions. Develops statistical models to analyze the impact of changes to pricing, promotions, programs and products on funding volume and profitability of the business.
Qualifications


Experience in creating and managing profitability models, ideally including experience in a financial services environment. Must have a strong mathematics and/or statistics background, as well as a deep knowledge of activity-based costing principles and a demonstrated history of applying those concepts successfully. Knowledge of survey research techniques, market response modeling, and multivariate analysis tools applied to marketing (e.g. factor analysis, multiple regression, discriminate analysis, cluster analysis, conjoint analysis, analysis of variance, logit and CHAID). Must be able to independently conceptualize, explain financial ideas to financial and non-financial people. Must have keen business knowledge and understand the appropriate ways to use cost and profitability information to support good business decisions. Must be capable of viewing the business strategically and connecting financial information to practical business issues. Must have a B.A. degree with an MBA preferred. 8 to 10 years experience. Proficient at Word; Excellent at Excel; Experience with database, OLAP, and specialized Activity-Based Costing software would be helpful.
