Job Description:
Manages financial reporting and analysis responsibilities for a business unit. Major divisional controller activities include: preparing financial and operational reports, establishing and maintaining strong financial and accounting controls, preparing financial and operational analysis to support business decisions, drafting annual external financial statements, and advising business unit and executive management on the financial consequences of business decisions. Major cost allocation activities include the coordination and review of the following: annual and quarterly fund board product profitability reporting, monthly managerial and legal cost allocations, and administration support of systems in support of these activities.  
 
Directs and coordinates all financial support functions for a business unit focusing on the preparation, analysis and financial control of budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans.  
Assumes responsibility for the underlying process of recording all financial activity and the reconciliation or all balance sheet and income statement accounts associated with the  
business unit and related legal entity.  
 
Communicates and presents business unit operating results, budgets, forecasts, financial trends and cost initiatives to business unit management. Corporate Finance management and the MFS Executive Committee- Directs the analysis of costs specific to functions and products within the respective business unit to support business needs of the business unit and Corporate Finance. Actively participates with Corporate Finance and other Divisional Controllers on initiatives to improve the monthly close process, budget and forecast processes, and to develop new financial systems applications and upgrades to financial systems applications, as applicable.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree and CPA plus 7 years of related experience, or an MBA plus 5 years of related experience required. A CPA is required and a Masters Degree or MBA are preferred. Excellent analytical, management and communication skills. Expertise in spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications, and experience in the design and implementation of financial applications. Ability to work overtime as needed.

Additional Information:
Provides Corporate Finance with business unit information necessary to support corporate level analysis and benchmarking initiatives. Directs the development, preparation and maintenance of various financial and operational reports. Responsible for compliance with Sarbanes Oxley 404 internal controls, process flow, identifying risk and controls, and quarterly certifications associated with the business processes impacting the assigned managerial and legal entities.  
 
Coordinates and reviews the monthly preparation and review of managerial and legal cost allocation processing and reporting. Related activities include overseeing the enhancements to the cost allocations process in response to changes in products and organizational structures, and working with Financial Systems department in developing new tools to assist in this process.
