Electronic Money Transfer JR Account Executive HP

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the exciting new position of Junior ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE within our new Emerging Markets group in Huntington Park, CA. As this is a new position and initiative at HSBC, the ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial zeal and a demonstrated track record in customer service, cash handling, and sales. Qualified candidates must be fluent in Spanish and have a strong understanding of the Hispanic community and culture.



As part of our Electronic Money Transfer team you will:

1. Provide bilingual customer relationship building and complete Electronic Money Transfers. Verify Electronic Money Transfer transmissions comply with Federal, State, and International Law.

2. Assist in the development of a satellite and branch office customer base. Develop and maintains bilingual customer relationships through in person customer referral programs and out bound phone call campaigns. Assess customer requirements and takes appropriate actions that may include handling the customer request or making transitions to sales executives.

3. Provide sales support activities such as offering loan product alternatives that provide an Electronic Money Transfer customer with additional funds to meet their needs. Required duties include, accurately handling large amounts of money orders and cash, and balancing all funds accurately.

4. Assist branch in developing lead lists through all potential sources including scans, satellite and branch reports, customer contacts, and outside sources.

5. Function as initial customer contact for satellite and branch office walk-in and telephone traffic. Handle routine customer inquiries and questions by phone, mail, or walk-in regarding product or service information, account information, or problem resolution. Direct complex inquiries or problems to appropriate sales or management level.

6. Solicit customers and transfers those customers to an Account Executive when appropriate. May perform account executive job responsibilities as needed.

7. Prepare and mail customer correspondence including promotional material and thank you notes.

8. May assist Junior AE supervisor or Branch Sales Manager as directed with the various compliance duties such as maintaining satellite and branch Electronic Money Transfer logs, completing audit detail report logs, SAR compliance, and balancing over/under exception reports as well as all required governmental required EMT reporting.

9. Handle document review of customer EMT reporting daily. Will be required to open and close Satellite and branch office kiosk along with morning and night report completion.

10. Adhere to Consumer Lending policies and procedures including ECOA requirements and money laundering compliance requirements. Complete all training as required within timelines.

11. Perform all necessary clerical functions to ensure effective operation of the Satellite and branch. Post payments, makes bank deposits as necessary and follows specific cash handling procedures outlined for Electronic Money Transfer operations.

12. Adhere strictly to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.

13. Complete other related duties as assigned, support the Company’s Diversity programs.

Job Experience:
III. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
This position requires an individual with:

High school graduate or equivalent required with a strong aptitude for basic mathematics. Some college course work preferred.
Six months Electronic Money Transfer experience or one year of customer service experience in a bilingual sales environment, or two years customer service experience required.
Must be able to work under minimal supervision and have initiative to complete required work. Spanish/English Bilingual verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to work in a fast-pace environment with changing priorities.
Knowledge of computers and applicable software including word processing and spreadsheets required.
Must pass internal oral Bilingual Spanish certification prior to hire as low advanced or above.
Within 60 days of hire must complete the pre work and Spanish Financial Terminology workshop.
