THE POSITION

Netflix is looking for a responsible, resourceful and highly motivated Financial Analyst ? DVD Inventory Operations. This role will reside primarily in Los Gatos with meaningful time at our Sunnyvale Ops Center and report to the Senior Accounting Manager. The Financial Analyst will provide critical support to the Finance and Operations teams as we grow to 20M subscribers and over one billion annual DVD shipments. The successful candidate will have exceptional analytical and accounting skills and knowledge of inventory accounting principles and procedures to account for inventory, oversee inventory-related internal controls and drive innovation for operating efficiencies and improvement initiatives, have a proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being part of a highly-skilled, dedicated team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

? Responsible for accounting and financial reporting for our DVD Library and Electronic Downloading
? Accounting for Operations Supplies including mailers and mailers with Advertising
? Work closely with Operations and Content staff on all inventory system processes and improvements
? Oversee weekly cycle counts
? Analyze, record and report in-process issues, scrap and associated metrics
? Resolve receiving and accounting issues
? Prepare journal entries and maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
? Ensure accurate inventory balances and transaction processing
? Perform ad-hoc analysis and in-depth reporting and evaluation to management
? Proactively identify gaps or conflicts in existing systems or policies, develop scalable solutions and work to win consensus across multiple teams
? Drive cost improvement initiatives and help create innovative procedures for policy implementation
? Maintain precise and scalable processes
? Participate in cross-functional projects designing and driving requirements for process flow including compliance and SOX regulations
? Provide on-going support to Operations and Content
? Other projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

BS/BA in Accounting/Finance with 8+ years public/private accounting and audit experience in cost management with a strong working knowledge of US GAAP, Additional requirements include the following:
