Financial Assistance Advisor

This position works closely with Learners, on the phone and through email, in helping them evaluate their individual financial needs and applying for suitable education financing programs as well as identifying other financial resources.  Serves as liaison for Learners in matters pertaining to financial assistance when interacting with the University's billing agent, University staff, lenders, and other outside agencies.


Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors degree (preferably in business, finance, or similar area of study) and one year of experience in a related customer service position at an accredited college or university.  Required skills include good written and oral communication, an ability to learn and interpret financial concepts, proficiency with computers, team-orientation, and commitment to providing quality, personal service to Learners. Current knowledge of education financing trends, federal regulations, and experience with federal financial aid programs is preferred.  An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be considered.
