Financial Institution Services Rep - Risk Mgmt.

Job Description: PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION The FIS Risk Management Representative is responsible for analyzing various trading practices of TRP Financial Institution customers. This includes serving as an information resource to other business units for products, services, market issues, as well as processing transactions and resolving client issues and reducing areas that create market exposure, financial risk and inefficiencies.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

* Investigate and resolve rejected NSCC (Nat'l Securities Clearing Corp) trades. Contact brokers each morning to resolve issues by 10:15 estimate deadline. Gather information and complete NSCC documents for new fund set ups and fund closings. Monitor closed funds for trading restrictions. Work with Legal dept to set up new NSCC dealers in our systems.
* Fund compliance: monitor excessive trading, redemption fees, omnibus accts, large trades, Institutional funds. Daily review of trading reports to ensure within compliance of predefined guidelines. If violations found, notify brokers of restriction or stop placed on account. Review restricted/closed fund trades by reviewing daily reports to ensure there are no unapproved trades. Contact brokers directly to resolve issues
* Run and monitor reports to ensure that brokers have selling agreements for the funds that require them. Compare reports to databases and accounts. Contact brokers if agreements are missing and refer them to Third Party Distribution. May place stop on account until agreement is obtained.
* Contact new brokers by phone to conduct short (10-15 questions) questionnaire regarding trading practices, controls, prior fines, etc. Complete document and forward to committee for review. Perform some independent cross checking of brokers' answers by requesting and/or reviewing the broker/dealer file on record with the NASD.
* Work with department Business Analyst to develop enhancements to DST system. Help to define requirements and review upgrades to determine whether to install at TRP.

QUALIFICATIONS
* College degree and 3 yrs related work experience
* Series 6 and 63 (will be required in the first 90 days of the job)
* Extensive understanding of the internal operations of Financial Institution Services (generally 2 to 4 years related experience)
* Thorough knowledge of FIS departmental procedures and policies
* Strong analytical foundation, sound judgment, and ability to solve problems independently
* Flexible and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment
* Effective and consistent in demonstrating the ability to provide feedback to peers and management
* A high degree of professionalism
* Process trades, new accounts, maintenance, redemptions, exchanges, transfers, and FIS specific transactions
* Meets project/task deadlines while performing basic responsibilities
* Completes assignments in a timely manner
* Adequately documents work
* Ability to work with minimal supervision and handle stressful situations in a calm, profession manner
* Cooperate and build effective working relationships with external clients, group members and management

* College degree, or a high school diploma/equivalent and a minimum of one year related work experience required
