Our client, one of the world?s largest retained executive search consulting firms, is seeking a Financial Services Practice Associate for their Boston office.

 THE POSITION

 

The Associate is viewed as a ?thought-partner? who distinguishes him/herself as an expert in their respective function or industry area of specialization and is highly leveraged locally and nationally to assist in complex client issues.

 

The Position reports to the Head of Research with frequent interaction with members of the Financial Services Practice Group. The Associate is expected to work effectively and efficiently on multiple client engagements through the combination of solid project management skills, proactive and high quality search execution, and strong, team-oriented delivery against specific client needs.

 

The successful candidate will be organized, process oriented, tenacious and driven by results. The Associate will deliver outstanding candidate solutions to consultants and clients in a highly responsive manner and transferring the knowledge gained throughout the firm?s network and the external market in a meaningful way.

 

The position requires a solid background in the financial services industry in addition to search-related experience.

 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Financial Services Practice Associate will:

? Contribute actively to the start-up phase of the search by participating in client kick-off meetings with the Consultant.

? Gather relevant information regarding the appropriate industries and target companies, including identifying prospects and sources through database and market research and/or contract researchers, if necessary.

? Contact prospects and thoroughly assess experiences and critical competencies for success, specifically focusing on the individual?s past behavior in overcoming challenges to meet job goals.

? Present a comprehensive universe of qualified candidates to the client by partnering with the Consultant during the course of the assignment and tracking and supplying additional information.

? Prepare information for the client progress report/meeting by teaming with the Consultant and the Administrative Assistant. Be organized and well-prepared for update or progress meetings by anticipating the information needs of others.

? Contribute to the Firm?s knowledge management activities by looking for opportunities to share expertise and best practices, developing a network of people within an industry or functional area and recording information in a timely manner.KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Ideal Experience

? College graduate with at least 5 years of executive search or applicable business experience. Advanced degree a plus.

? Background in the financial services industry.

? Experience working in a consulting environment and/or a role where multiple projects and competing demands are the norm.
