Freight Payment Analyst, Distribution

Position Description:

This position will have responsibilities involving the freight payment process, as well as other specialized projects within the Supply Chain Distribution area.

Primary responsibilities include ensuring that the freight payment process, budget and transportation cost allocations for the Supply Chain distribution group are coordinated, monitored and analyzed. This individual will work in close coordination with the Finance department to ensure accuracy of payment and costs, and will be responsible for supporting the data integrity of our shipment activity versus the freight payment activity provided by a third party freight payment company on behalf of sanofi-aventis. In addition, the incumbent of this position will be expected to participate in and/or lead special projects for the Supply Chain team. This position involves significant cross-functional, team-based interaction.

Job Responsibilities
?Performs evaluation and analysis of data elements provided from the payment vendor and from carriers; Extracts reports by mode of transport, products, department, division, or by other company requirements
?Serves as departmental support person by retaining Carrier/Vendor Services/Data Analytics, and SAP systems knowledge as it relates to G/L entries
?Resource for SAP related issues for freight payment and data collection
?Interacts with carriers, customers, employees, and internal departments on a day-to-day basis to ensure that freight payment and billing procedures are maintained, and in accordance with company compliance procedures
?Analyzes freight payment process, fosters collaboration, and drives process implementation and/or improvement
?Ensures that the freight payment invoices are reconciled against the shipment data and contract rates with carriers, and provides exception information regarding the payment vendor, and carriers to the manager of transportation.
?Perform monthly and year-end freight accruals as necessary; ensure freight bills are reflected in the G/L ledger in the proper accounts
?Assist with the development of transportation budget and forecast; provide month-end explanations of variances from transportation budget and forecasts, monitorsupply chain overall budget, provide month-end explanations of variances from supply chain budget and forecasts.
?Assist with development of PPA's
?Closely coordinates all finance requirements in accordance with Accounting, Controlling, and Accounts Payable/Receivable processes
?Participate in, and/or lead special projects within Distribution, involving cross-functional, team-based interaction

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent required (Business, Finance, Accounting Degree preferred)
2-4 years Accounting and Data Analytics experience
Prior demonstrated experience leading or managing projectsPharmaceutical industry experience a plus
Transportation experience a plus
Knowledge of SAP (Finance, Sales & Distribution modules preferred)Intermediate application expertise (Impromptu, Access, Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of shipment documentation and transportation industry a plus
Awareness/experience with quality/process improvement initiatives, including Six Sigma
Demonstrated analytical skills and report development
Detail oriented
Self-starter, yet ability to work in a team environment and foster cross-functional collaboration.
