Fund of Hedge Fund / Senior Research Analyst

Requirements

Ideal candidates should have 5-10 years of industry experience with some direct experience in hedge fund manager selection and due diligence.  Market experience either as a research analyst, strategist, or trader at a hedge fund is a plus.  Candidates should be able to present their ideas to the Due Diligence Team, Investment Committee and external groups including potential or existing investors.

 

Responsibilities

Senior Analysts will be responsible for performing and directing due diligence on prospective and invested hedge fund managers.  Analysts are expected to be able to qualitatively assess managers by:reviewing materials provided by the manager or third parties, directly interviewing managers and their investment teams and speaking to third parties who have knowledge of the manager or members of the investment team.  Analysts are expected to develop detailed reports that include a detailed description of the fund?s history, strategy, risk management policies, historical risk profile, and experience of the investment team.  On an ongoing basis, the Senior Analyst is responsible for maintaining regular contact with the manager to assess whether the factors that led to investment are being sustained or whether there have been any material changes in the fund.  In order to do this, Senior Analysts are expected to have a thorough understanding of the underlying hedge fund strategies and the market environment in which the funds operate.

 

In addition to performing due diligence, the Senior Analyst will be the primary point person for sourcing all new managers in their areas, and maintaining contacts in the industry which allow the group to obtain relevant data in that regard.  The Senior Analyst will supervise the maintenance of that data and all other information regarding the manager in systems designed to track manager information.
