General Accountant II Job Description:

Accounts Receivable is key contact for program management, shipping, contracts, finance, accounting, government and commercial payment offices to optimize cash flow for specific contract type. Work is performed under general direction of AR manager. Assignments are based on top priority projects causing impacts to cash flow and government or customer requests. Numerous assignments are given with emphasis on quick turnaround to meet customer satisfaction. This position is responsible for scheduling strategic meetings with internal and external customers and prioritizing tasks to meet goals and accomplish objectives. This position will be a key control point in AR organization. Influences decisions and solutions with government counterparts. This position must achieve goals or organization will fall short of meeting customer commitments.
- Perform audit of aging stated
- Perform monthly/quarterly/yearly management metrics
- Initiate the process to resolve billing and payment issues
- Key member of Cash Collection Function


Position Responsibilities include:
- Initiate collection calls to internal and external customers
- Develop detailed analysis and problem resolution including extensive contract reconciliations. Reconciliation includes cost analysis, interface with payment offices for payment details, review of finance
- ACRN (Accounting Classification Reference Number)
- Funding profiles including Performance Based Payment advances and liquidations of milestones
- Support Business Units and Contracts
- Initiate meetings to arbitrate and drive resolution of critical issues with BUs, Shipping, customers and government personnel
