Hedge Fund Due Diligence Analyst

Principal Duties:

 

Conduct operational due diligence reviews of marketable alternatives investment managers.Assist Research Consultants in conducting due diligence on marketable alternative (MALT) investment managers. Responsibilities include:  developing due diligence plans, conducting on-site operational reviews and interviews, coordinating reference checks, conducting terms review, and preparing summary memo with recommendation.  Maintain appropriate documentation.Participate in the review of external service providers including administrators, accountants, law firms, auditors and prime brokers.Coordinate and address appropriate research requests.Review and monitor audited financial statements.Participate in manager meetings.  Contribute to initial manager assessment process.Prepare written summaries of clients? operational capabilities. Maintain database of marketable alternative funds operational and vendor data.Coordinate reporting and interact with, consulting, consulting associates, marketable alternative control and MALT research. 




Qualifications:

 5-7 years of relevant work experience within securities operations or fund accounting environment or within an audit firm reviewing investment operations.Bachelor?s degree (general business or accounting major) with a record of achievement.Knowledge of investment vehicles for hedge funds.  Familiarity with a wide range of financial securities and derivatives.Experience with sophisticated institutional investors, audits and portfolio accounting.Strong written and oral communication skills.  Ability to coordinate projects and facilitate information flow across different functional areas.Comfort working in a flat organizational environment.Strong quantitative and analytical skills.Ability to work both independently and in a team under time pressure.Ability to prioritize multiple requests for information, while ensuring integrity, accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data.  Ability to travel domestically and internationally
