Hedge Fund Research Associate - Dallas, TX

HBK Investments, L.P. is a global, multi-strategy, market-neutral hedge fund currently managing approximately $10 billion in assets. The firm was founded in 1991 and is headquartered in Dallas, with offices in New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo.  Our US Equities desk is seeking a Primary Research Associate to join their growing team.  In this role, he/she will work collaboratively with Portfolio Managers and Analysts by performing intensive information gathering to support the company in making significant investment decisions.  While investment experience is a plus, the qualified candidate must possess a demonstrated track record with gathering intelligence as well as canvassing markets and industries.

Position Responsibilities & Duties:Provide in depth research and analysis on a variety of companies and industriesProactively communicate with analysts on potential investments and offer recommendations through extensive researchDevise strategies for acquiring information that is not readily available to the publicStay abreast of market developments that may affect current and future transactions. Manage various 3rd party resources: specifically information and knowledge gathering services, unrelated to traditional Wall Street research

 

Required Job Skills:Tenacious investigative research and knowledge gathering skillsDemonstrated success with generating leads from scratch (e.g., cold calling, networking, etc.)Knowledge of current research methodologies and strategiesExpertise conducting in depth business, financial, and industry researchExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf starter: takes initiative, can work autonomouslyFinancial services industry experience is preferred, but not required  Experience using business information tools (e.g., One Source, Hoovers, Lexis-Nexis, etc.)
