In-House Senior Paralegal

 

GFI Group Inc., a public and rapidly growing financial services company, is currently seeking a permanent Senior Paralegal to join its growing legal department based in New York.  The successful candidate will be personable and accustomed to working in a dynamic and high-energy workplace with fun, forward-thinking colleagues.  The individual will support three attorneys.

 

Experience:

4-6 years experience in a large law firm, public company or investment bank.

 

Job Qualifications:

BA or BS preferred

 

Candidates should be motivated and willing to learn, have good communication skills and the ability to work independently.  Candidates should have strong writing and organizational skills and be capable of managing a schedule to meet strict deadlines.

 

Duties:

Assist the legal department of a global financial services company with all aspects of in-house legal work, including drafting and negotiating various agreements such as data licensing agreements, equity grants, various commercial contracts and non-disclosure agreements.  Will work closely with our legal staff in London.

 

Other responsibilities will include drafting and maintaining in-house corporate documents such as board resolutions and meeting minutes.  Assisting with forming and/or qualifying entities in foreign jurisdictions and dissolving inactive entities.  Assisting in the preparation and filing of required forms with the Securities and Exchange Commission.  Maintaining all legal files utilizing filing software and a data storage system.  Collecting and maintaining due diligence for possible mergers and acquisitions.  Tracking and processing all legal invoices from outside counsel and vendors.  Assisting in the maintenance of the books and records of the Company.  Conducting internet research. 

 

There may be opportunities to travel, but travel is not required.

 

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
