Investment Banking Analyst / Associate
STAMFORD, CT - FRANKLIN HAMILTON, (Just 40 min from NYC) is a fast-growing boutique Mergers & Acquisitions Investment Banking Firm specializing in the financial service and insurance sectors. Currently, we have openings for a variety of positions with our firm. For the Analyst position, we are looking to train entry-level candidates interested in establishing a career in Mergers & Acquisitions. No previous experience in the M&A field is required, however, the candidate must be comfortable communicating with CEOs and Executive level corporate clients. Experienced M&A or investment banking associates and senior advisors, will have opportunities to work on our existing retained clients as the candidate builds their M&A pipeline of new deals.
1. Investment Banking, Analyst Position
Responsibility
Contact & qualify and interview CEOs and executives, perform company valuations, research and analysis, build transaction pipeline, develop investment banking and M&A knowledge and transaction skills. Assisting Senior Associate and Executive in all aspects of M&A transactions and playing an integral part in all phases of the deals Training You will have opportunity to participate in financial service industry training, Mergers & Acquisition transaction training, financial service company valuation methods, discount cash flow analysis training, executive summary & business plan writing skill and sales & marketing and executive negotiate skill training
Compensation
Activity-based pay of between $30K and $34K plus commission for each M&A transaction. The income potential is between $40K and $65K. If the analyst originates a M&A deal that closes within 12 months of their date of hire, he or she will receive guaranteed annual pay of a minimum of $40,000 including activity pay and commissions. In addition, Analysts who develop the ability to play an integral role in the management of transactions and function at an Associate level, will be considered for the Associate position.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree, must understand balance sheet and income statements, must be proficient with numbers, calculations and be able to learn valuation techniques, must have neutral accent and excellent communications skills. The ideal candidate is an individual who is super easy to train, rewards and incentives driven.

2. Investment Banking, Associate Position
Responsibilities
Client management, transaction handling, transaction negotiations & closing, management and training of team members, financial projection, managing research efforts along with group P&L responsibilities.
Compensation
Associates/Senior Advisor compensation is between $42K to $48K in activity based pay. (Plus commission for each transaction closed by the Associate's team). Associates, with commission, can make $90K+ after their first year of managing an internal team. The Associate's total compensation is expected to grow 20% each year as the team continues to grow the transaction pipeline and close more deals. New Associates must go through the 3-month marketing analyst-training program. During these first 3 months, Associates will receive the standard analyst training compensation package.
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree, must understand balance sheet and income statements, must be proficient with valuation techniques and possess excellent written and verbal communications skills. The successful candidate must have strong management and leadership skills, high personal integrity, strong work ethic, and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines. Must have two to three years' relevant work in Corporate Finance/Investment Banking/Commercial Banking/ Corporate Sales/Corporate Executive or similar experience. MBA, CFA, CPA, JD, or equivalent and Series 7 and additional human resources experienced will be a plus but not necessary.
