Investment Officer (AIS)

This position is for an Investment Officer within the Multi-Manager team. The position will be located in Stamford, CT will report functionally to a Senior Investment Officer with emphasis on regional coverage and support.

Looking for an employee who will be responsible for monitoring of current hedge fund investments and research of potential new investments for portfolios. Strategies covered will focus on one or more strategies depending on the candidate's experience.

Basic Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Desire a candidate with a broad hedge fund background and strong leadership qualities who will be able to work well in both local and global settings. Previous experience analyzing hedge fund investments is a plus. Desire a smart, hard working, self-starter who is able to communicate effectively with all levels of management both internally and externally. Additionally it is beneficial to have:
- 5+ years experience in related sales and/or trading positions with:
o Knowledge of derivatives
o Understanding of basic strategies
o Familiarity with Relative Value and Trading strategies a plus
- Exposure to hedge fund industry / investment process
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to meet tight deadlines
- Proficient with Bloomberg, MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point)
- Willingness to travel

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Initiate manager research and manager meetings
- Conduct independent analysis of hedge fund investment strategies utilizing both quantitative and qualitative factors to determine investment opportunity sets
- Assess background and experience of hedge fund professionals
- Coordinate and prioritize meetings with hedge fund investment professionals
- Conduct interviews and meetings to gather facts on hedge fund investment processes
- Write reports that summarize, analyze and evaluate on a relative basis, prospective hedge fund investments
- Assist in producing investment opinions in preparation for Investment Committee meetings
- Maintain relationships and monitor activities with current investment hedge funds for assigned hedge fund strategies
- Document monthly performance updates
- Liaise between sources of hedge fund investment ideas and the investment team
- Attend related conferences and maintain industry networks
- Liaise with Investment Operations team as needed
- Regional client interfacing (as needed)
