Investment Research Systems Developer

Working for a global investment management firm, this individual will work in the Research Systems Group as part of the Information Technology team.  The developer will be responsible for participating in the design, development and maintenance of applications to support the investment research groups within the company.

 

Responsibilities:Work closely with research analysts and portfolio managers to identify areas where technology could be leveraged to enhance the investment process and achieve superior results.Propose and design technical solutions.Implement applications based on the solutions proposed and work closely with users to test and integrate the applications into the current production environment.Support the applications developed as well as legacy systems.

 

Skills:

?  College degree with minimum 3 years experience in Financial Services Industry.

?  Experience with C++ and .NET (VB or C#).

?  Good knowledge of relational databases, Microsoft SQL Server preferred.

?  Knowledge of Matlab preferred.

?  Mathematics or other analytical background would be a plus.

?  Understanding of optimizations, trading strategies or integer programming experience would be a plus.

?  Self-starter, able to work as part of a small team as well as independently, with minimal supervision.

?  Excellent communication skills ? both written and oral.

? Must be detail-oriented and able to prioritize work and effectively manage multiple tasks.

? Proven ability to deliver quality applications based on given time estimates.

? Ability to provide creative solutions and desire to keep up with advances in technology.
