We need a talented individual to fill the role of Loan Counselor IV. This candidate will be responsible for collecting complex delinquent accounts as assigned and routed through an auto-dialing system. Minimize losses to the company by determining, as quickly as possible, the best course of action to be taken. Handles accounts where previous collection work has been unsuccessful to prevent accounts going to foreclosure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include: * Negotiates reasonable payments arrangements with delinquent borrowers in accordance with department policies and procedures. * Identifies accounts that qualify for repayments plans in line with department policies and procedures. * Requests Chases and/or property inspections as needed. * Requests or performs skip tracing on accounts where no contact information is available. * Complies with and has thorough knowledge of Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and thorough understanding of departmental policies and procedures. * Adheres to department productivity standards and performs quality collection work with timely follow up. * Identifies special circumstance loans and refers them to the collection supervisor for possible legal review or risk management. * Extensive use of an automated dialer system and individual account ownership. * Identifies loan files for potential fraud situations and submits them to the Risk Management unit. * Refers loan files for foreclosure that fall in line with department foreclosure policies and procedures. * Identifies loss mitigation opportunities and refers them to the Loss Mitigation unit. * Consistently minimize and resolve customer complaints. * Interacts with customers in a professional and courteous manner. * Reviews credit history and other available information on delinquent accounts. * Request Broker Price Opinions for delinquent Junior Lien accounts. Some college education is preferred. Must have One to two years mortgage collection experience, thorough knowledge of FDCPA guidelines, auto dialer experience, independent high quality work habits, thorough understanding of collection laws and practices, good negotiation and interpersonal skills are required, and strong communication skills are required.
