Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) is a global provider of superior investment products and services to institutional clients across multiple asset classes. MSIM Operations supports all aspects of the investment management business including: providing information to Portfolio Managers to aid in investment decisions; ensuring the integrity of the information used in investment decisions; providing information to marketing to attract new assets; and providing information to coverage officers to retain existing assets.

* Position Summary: * The Trade Settlement Specialist will join our US Equity/Real Estate/SMA Retail Product Service Team and perform the daily trade processing and settlement functions for US Equities and listed Real Estate. This individual will work closely with internal traders, financial advisors, broker community, custodians, fund accountants and other operational groups, i.e. IT, corporate actions, client services and compliance. This individual will be required to constantly evaluate the services MS Investment Management receives from our external service providers and interact with third party vendors to ensure that the highest standards for trade processing is met.

Position Responsibilities:

* Process assets purchased and sold by the US Equity/Real Estate trading teams including stocks, bonds and convertibles on a daily basis and in a timely and efficient manner.

* Analyze and identify key trends of all service providers and report findings to operations management and traders.

* Support the growth and profitability of the products through the development of innovative solutions to complex issues.

* Interact on a daily basis with internal traders and external parties to communicate trade discrepancies and fails.

* Advise management of potential risk items (buy-ins, aged items?) which may involve claim against MSIM.


Skills Required
* Bachelors degree or equivalent in Business or Finance
* General knowledge of US Equity and international settlement cycles, market practices, registration issues and industry related software
* Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
* High degree of computer literacy, including working knowledge of Windows-based applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
* Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task and problem solve
* Knowledge of automated trade processing
* Three years of experience in related processing and settlement function within similar Investment Advisory, Broker-Dealer or Global Custodian organization/s.
