Manager of QA Test Automation

SUMMARY: ??Under the direction of the QA Department Manager, the Manager of QA Test Automation is responsible for the day to day management of a core team of Quality Assurance staff accountable for the support, adherence to quality standards and maintenance of ASA?s automated testing. He/she will work to assure that automated testing meets its mission of providing fast, accurate and thorough indications of regression aberrations to the Programs, Continuing Engineering and Release Management.? The QA Test Automation Manager will also determine the strategy and future direction of Test Automation at ASA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (e.g., in order to be considered qualified to perform this position, the person must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed below):

1.????? Manage the daily test automation activities associated with Release Management, insuring that bugs are both reported in a timely manner, and forwarded to the groups responsible for their resolution.? Track progress, through and including final bug resolution.

2.????? Ensure that Test Automation is represented in the planning stages on all new projects.? Focus is on the project?s impact on existing tests, and the selection and review of new tests ensuring that they effectively contribute to the overall regression suite.

3.????? Provide oversight, in terms of adherence to standards for the QA Engineering staff deployed to the Programs in matters relating to Automated Testing.

4.????? Manage the review and acceptance process for newly created and modified tests from Project teams

5.????? Responsible for the quality of automated testing of new ASA software releases by ensuring that the versions of tests, updating of GUI Maps, and maintenance of the existing Win Runner (TSL) function libraries is performed by the core QA Automation Team.

6.????? Manage the review process of test scripts and test data for adherence to Test Automation standards, thoroughness, accuracy and maintainability.

7.????? Actively contribute to maintenance of the ASA SDP

8.????? Ensure automation documentation is current, comprehensive and in compliance with departmental standards

9.????? Responsible for ensuring that Test Director User Administration and Win Runner/Test director Workstation software installation activities are performed by the core ATM group

10.? Responsible to ensure that the Test Automation Laboratory hardware, non-ASA software and data backups are maintained by the Datacenter and Tech Support.

11.? Work with Expert Services and the Tools group to plan for new Test Automation Tools.

12.? Work with QA Management to fill staff positions and actively ensure that resources are utilized at capacity.

13.? Create performance evaluations for assigned staff.? Provides feedback, coaching and recognition as appropriate

14.? Working with Expert Services, implement process improvements for test automation and contribute to long range planning
